The Kruševo Republic was an unsuccessful attempt to establish a slavic "Macedonian" nation in 1903 by who were then known as Vardars. After 3 months, the revolt was brutally crushed with 30,000 refugees fleeing the Ottoman Empire to the Principality of Bulgaria.
